Found two ads from the same guy that I'm interested in. In one he has a pair of thumbwheel radios for $40 that have "nice thumbwheels and nice plastic faces" and the other item is a 361-383-400 MP electronic ignition distributor and cap that was "used for on one dyno test engine for 2 hrs." for $50. This is for the distributor and cap only and does not come with a box.

It sounds like a good deal to me but I would like some feedback first. I also need to find out if this distributor will work for me. He said he used it with a 450-hp 383 so it should based on that. Hopefully I can get some pictures too.

JUST distributor price is $170 at Summit, so there you have if is a deal or not. I wish was get around a deal like that when I had to get a distributor.

ask for pics of reluctor!! it could be bited by pickup coil and thats the reason why is selling! If is bited, would need new reluctor, or fix that one milling down every point!.

Once I saw an ebay seller selling a MP dist because that reason. Didn't buy because was dissasembled so wasn't sure if was the only detail about.

will need to make a slight milling job that anyway though on a new unit/reluctor to be sure about a good gap on every point, but being new, will need less job. Then check for the same with vacuum on!

I don't think anybody is repoping the thumbwheel radio thumbwheels or plastic faces so if they fit your current of future intended application then they would probably be a good deal.  Don't forget that they used the thumbwheel radio in A, B, and C bodies and that there were some differences in them so be careful.
