Newbie, Good first mopar?

Hey guys, I'm a full time college student from New Hampshire, I've built a few Harleys, dirtbikes, sleds ect and a 88 Firebird.  I've found this charger I think I'm going to pick up its a '73 SE with a 318 auto.  I think it would have the 747 torqueflight transmission?  Supposidly the car has 87,xxx miles on it and runs and drives.  He said the shift linkage is broken or a pin is snapped since you cant shift it in the car.  Do these have cable shift, or is it a rod and linkage?  Is the shift on the colum or on the floor?  I guess it needs a battery (12 volt im guessing), and a brakeline, trunk floor welded in (my college major is welding), and body work.  What do you guys think these are the only pics I have of the car, I'm trading him my '84 flt for this car and a 95 xl1200.  I've taken automotive classes, and worked at a shop as a motorcycle mechanic so wrenching isn't something I would have a issue with, I just don't know mopar well and wanted to make sure this was a decent trade.

It might not be a 727 (not 747). It could be a 904 transmission, a slightly smaller trans. Both of these could be on the floor or the column.
Yes, it would be 12 volt, and the car doesnt look half bad.
Welcome aboard, and you might want t check out autometaldirect.com for body parts. A lot of guys use them, and they say they are high quality.

If you get a pic of the fender tag, mounted on the drivers inner fender, guys could tell you exactly what your car has.

Sounds like your bikes are Harleys right? Harleys have a very good resale value.  If your bikes are in good condition I'd suggest that you sell them then buy a much better Mopar than this one.  Only you can decide but I wouldn't buy that car.

I picked it up today, already have bad luck with this car everything that could have gone wrong when I was getting it did, instead of only taking a few hours like I figured since it was about a hour from me it took all day, so I only got one pic of it so far when it was on the trailer.  Ill get more soon, it didnt look too bad, brakes dont work, colum shift, needs studs on all 4, but not bad other wise.

The p.o said there was a issue with the transmission linkage, but he said the car goes foward and reverse, and I know getting it on the trailer it was going into neutral and park fine it shifted smooth so I'm a little confused by what he meant by that.  Anyone know what those amber lights are in the engine bay pic?  Theres 2 of them one on each side and look like their off a motorcycle.  I couldnt find the fender tag, but the car looks good the bodys solid, only one rust hole in the frame that I saw, the shackles looked ok, looks like new carpets inside, and it looks like it has the rally dash if I'm not mistaken? Oh and Brock I completely understand that seems like anytime I put a wrench to anything it costs a extra $1000 and few days of labor than I was planning on.
