Ok, did anyone watch the Dick Clark Rockin' New Years Eve on channel 4 tonight?  Wow, he is really getting scary with the way his speech is and the ways his one eye is all funky like that.  Granted, I know he has had some health problems and he is no spring chicken, but you could hardly understand what he was saying.  Almost like he was talking like he was a drunk or was deaf.

If I get that old and get to be like that, someone please run me over with my charger and put me out of my misery.

He had a stroke a couple of years ago, he's doing better than last year. I just read that he's 79 years old.

He is lucky to even be alive. I feel for the guy, and there is a lot of nostalgia in him doing the show, but it's hard to watch him struggling. I think people would like to remember him from the good old days. Younger people sure arent going to understand why they have this guy doing he show. Since it's the same shtick every year, they ought to just replay his last good one from 2004 over and over until the end of time. They could even still send him his check. Seems like a win-win solution ?

I think Mr. Clark has had a good run but it's getting rediculous now. Still, I'd rather see him than Seacrest (sp?) or the Clintons.

oldgold69

his health is not good.  he  should have never came back after the stroke.  i think he thinks we can't do with out him on new years   just like guy lombardo ?

happy new year     and may your families  have a safe and healthy new year

TUFCAT

Thankfully, this was his final year. Its scary for kids watching (who don't know the history) ......they just think he some kind of a FREAK!

He has been doing it for like 50 years! :o

Anyone else notice that the name of the show this year was Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve WITH Ryan Seacrest?

I believe its a prelude of things to come....

Oh, for certain - this is his last year and Ryan Seacrest is set to take the torch from here on out.

Dick even said "one last time" in reference to his appearance last night.

They really need to re-think things if they're considering Kelly Pickler for next year. Holy smokes, her voice goes through ya like a rusty hunk of rebar covered in barnacles...

I didn't see the whole program but from what I saw on youtube I think it would have been best had he not made the appearance.   Hindsight is 20/20.    It was sad to see him in that condition, and I wish the man well.
At the risk of sounding unkind I'd rather see just about anyone do the program than Seacrest.   :Twocents:

It was kind of hard to watch, but he looked better last night than he did last year.

Poor Dick.. It's sad seeing him go after all of these years..

But I think it's even worse knowing Ryan's "taking over". The guy is such a tool.  :slap:

Seriously?? C-crest is taking over?? That just may be worst than The Tonight Show with Conan Obrien. I thought Dick looked real good for what he has been thru. He sure has aged well, what is he almost 80?

C-rest is not as bad as those "groups" of "singers", they got worse every time, I can't belive they could not get better entertainment. JMO

Sorry for the his old fans but Dick Clark should have shuffled off stage left a few years ago and faded away.   He looked even worse than before.   I guess his fat ego won't let him just go away gracefully.

I flicked on the channel just for the freak show for a few seconds and moved on.

The whole deal with his NYE show sucked anyway.   Some stupid pretaped party in LA instead of live acts and stuff.   Lipsync junk just like his old crappy AB show and every other crappy award show he put on.

Too bad MTV decided not to have a show this year.  Pretending to be broke or whatever.
CNN had Kathy Griffin co-hosting... she was funny as all hell smacking down the hecklers.
NBC had wooden Carson Daly ... at least the live acts were OK.

Did anyone notice the Ball didn't light up after it dropped?

All the TV cameras switched views real quickly away.

Yeah, Mr. Clark was scary.
