Im thinking about putting an auto shifter in my car.  I have 727.  Do they make a shifter with a drive mode (automatically switching gears) and also manual shifting gears, of is it just one or the other.  Also, if they do, can I get in it a pistol grip?

The current big block manual is P4876 825 and the chassis manual (which covers trans and suspension) is P5007 160.

Go buy them now, run don't walk ;D

OK, there is some books part numbers for you to go buy, now the question.

First I think you want a floor shifter right! ;) I am also guess your shifter is on the tree (means on the column). You can shift the car manuel with the column shifter, not cool and could dump the Charger in reverse. I did that with my 68 Road Runner when I was close to your age, 727 did live I will ad.

After you read the books I posted about you will know the valve body of the 727 does the shifting unless you have a Manuel valve body installed, not the shifter it self.

Yes they do make a Pistol Gripp shifter that will work a 727 but not from the factory. Someone will supply the link. I think you will need a conceal ($250.00 if lucky) Linkage and brackets from a slap stick shifter (factory shifter and around $300.00) and bucket seats ($700.00)  recovered. ;)

By self if I where you besides buying the books I posted ;) In would look at a B&M star shifter if they still make them.  It is a T-handle and looks cool as hell. Cable shifter so will not be that big of a pain to install like what I listed above.

I am guessing you are thinking I am picking on you, but I am not 71Charger500. Just trying to get you up to speed. Use to beat on Sandmix on the old site (second time around for this site) and we also spoke on the phone a few times as well. He bought the bible and God Forbid I have a faces off with him at the stop light now. 74 Charger, now running 13.0 and climing with a 340. He is 18 now, was 16 when him and I first started talking and it was Gandpaps Charger.
