I am sorry, I thought you were planning on purchasing it from the factory (which is odd because they don't sell to the public) and were going to have it shipped across the Atlantic.

Perhaps you can purchase it from one of their dealers in NA and have them mark gift on the package, with a phony birthday card and all.   

Tell them it is from your long lost cousin in America!

And why not ?
Sure, some stores can't do anything but price it as is, tax reasons, but have it send to anyone within the US and have he/she ship it to you as either gift or secondhand mechanical parts with a nice low $ bill of sale making you the owner.
Be sure all wrappers, labels and other markings are off though.

Btw, co worker's sick, no news on fixing your charger yet today but I think we may be able to start it this month, I'll try anyway. It's his place we'd be fixing it so it's his call.
