Will the following acc mount and kick down linkage work on a 440? They are from a 400.

Throttle linkage and transmission linkage.

I'm thinking the rod will be one inch too short.

Because of the RB correct?

the only difference, in height, between a 440 and a 400 is deck height.. not valley pan height.  400/440 kickdowns are the same... the differences are applied based upon the years of the application.

at least, that is my understanding.. if anyone knows differently, please correct me.

i have taken kickdown rods from different years and they have fit both b and rb engines.. its the mechanisms that are different only.

The bracket is going to bolt to the intake manifold, which bolts to the heads, which are going to set higher on the 440 (RB) than on the 400 (B), and for the rod to reach up to the bracket/pivot on the 440 it'll need to be longer.
I had to add an extension of about an inch and a half on my Super Bee's kick down rod when I went from the 383 to the 440.

Hope I'm not giving anyone a bumsteer. I just remember that I had to extend the rod for the kick down to work properly.

Well, I had a senior moment. These parts came off of a 440. A prospective buyer was searching for these parts and I thought I saved them from a 400 but actually came off of a 71-440. Glad to know they are the same though.
Thanks all.
