In Fiscal Year 2005, the U. S. Government spent $352 Billion of your money on interest payments to the holders of the National Debt. Compare that to NASA at $15 Billion, Education at $61 Billion, and Department of Transportation at $56 Billion

I do not proclaim to have an answer, just found it amazing that our national debt is at a all-time record:

$8,000,000,000,000

You wanna know how big a number that is, well if you put 8 trillion and made them into seconds, and you went back in time 8 trillion seconds ago from today, you would live in:

251,673 BC

It was the:

Pleistocene Era
(1.8 million - 8,000 years ago)

"The Great Ice Age"

Yep, the critters below were running the place :D

what was that for?  This was not politically motivated, just informing people of where the budget sits.  We can have a legitimate discussion about this without the mudslinging.  At least that is what I am hoping for. geez

Not mudslinging, but wasn't it about paid off when Clinton was in there?? ???

I haven't been keeping track, I would have guessed there would have been a 1 in front of that by now. :D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

his administration and congress created a surplus, but the national debt was still in the 5-6 trillion dollar range if I am not mistaken.

i beleive it was still over 6 trillion when Clinton was in office. but the surplus seemed to have more to do with greenspan than clinton himself.
