The biggest advantage I can see to buying a Year One (M&H) harness is that it's an exact replica of the original, therefore if/when you have any troubles in the future you can use the factory schematics to troubleshoot and repair. I could see it being a real pain in the butt to try fixing a problem with a generic, one-size-fits-all harness. But for $570+ the YO harness is pretty friggin' expensive. Still, it isn't that much more than some of the generic harnesses so I'll probably step up and buy it when the time comes.

I re-wired my 89 Ramcharger with a Painless universal kit.  They label every wire and have each "group" harness separate from the other.  Makes it a breeze to install.  However, you do have to splice all the original light and plug connectors into the new harness.

Just some advice - do it the right way and solder and insulate each connection.  It takes longer, but there are a lot of splices and just crimping the splice is not the best connection.  Also, make sure you have an original wire schematic to help you identify plug terminal locations.

alittle hard for a new guy...

i took my time with a buddy and cut all wires into the factory connectors...after about a week of so it was done and everything was done...the only thing not included to wire was the wiper wires...everything looks nice i will get some pics up soon..

I rewired my Challenger with the Painless Wiring Mopar setup, was fairly easy and only total would have taken me a full weekend, but with school it got strung out for weeks, little here, little there.

how did that kit work out for you, im looking at one from JEGS, they tech gus say that all the factory connections are included and wires the car head to toe?
