Why so hard to find 15x7 Vectors???

I just "won" two consecutive ebay auctions for 15x7 American Racing Vectors and both sellers suddenly couldn't produce a pair (both said they had one) and that it would take weeks before they could get me the second wheel from their suppliers.  I cancelled both purchases.  What gives?  I think I have a set of 15x8.5's on the way for the rear, but that is yet to be confirmed (tomorrow).  Does anyone have a reliable source at a reasonable price?

I got my Vectors from a local tire guy.  Jegs and Summit said they had backorders for weeks, this guy got them the next day and cheaper.  Check around at local tire shops that also sell wheels.  They might be able to help you out.

After all of the looking online, calling and having vendors tell me that they can get ONE, and buying them on ebay only to find out that there is a 6 week lead time (then getting my money back and cancelling the auction), Summit Racing has saved the day again.  They actually stock them and shipped them out the day that I ordered them.  They were only a couple bucks more than some, but shipping was free and it all worked out in the end for the better.  Sweet.

THE COLONEL

Are you talking about the reproduction Vectors, or the originals?  What did you find out?

New originals?  No.  I was looking for the new production Vector SE wheels from American Racing.  I have a full set now.  I picked up the rear 15x8.5's on ebay and after winning 3 additional auctions for the front 15x7's and then having all of the sellers tell me that they no longer had the pair of wheels to send to me (as a result I cancelled those three auctions) I found that Summit carried them, I ordered them, and they look great.

Thanks.

What are some other good tire place that might stock them? Called Summit and Jegs and both are out of them. The American Racing and they are discontinued with no plans on bringing them back out  :-\

I don't see what the issue is. I got mine two weeks ago from Summit, and looking online just now they have 15x7s and 15x8.5s.

You must be looking for a different size. Order them online, 'cause if they are listed as in stock they will be shipped and you will get them.

They dont always have what they say they do online. It's been saying they have one left online for a while now and they dont. Try clicking on the 15x7 and put you want two of them. It'll say that they only have one left and they dont.  15x8 are not a problem, but I want to make sure I can get a full set first before I order the 15x8's.

Has any one ever tried putting the 15x8's on the front with the 5 inch bs or is that to much bs.
Thanks

Okay.  Well, I must have ordered mine just in time then.  Ordered on Sunday from Summit online, showed up on Thursday at my front door.  Sweet!

If you wanna get technical, there is no true 15x8" Vector, not new or old.  The originals and the new ones are both 15x8.5" if you get out the tape measure.

The new 15x8.5" Vectors only came with the 5" backspacing, which won't clear the upper balljoint on the front end of a Charger.  It takes spacers and longer wheel studs to make it happen on the front end.
