Do 727 and 518 use the same sprag ? 

Will bolt in 727 sprags work in a 518?

Depends on the year, the '90 and early '91 518 uses the same 12-element sprag as the 727 but in late '91 they changed to a larger 14-element sprag and also changed the case so they won't interchange.

Is the 14 roller an improvement?

Any increase in the number of rollers is a strength improvement but all new designs like the 16-element Ultimate Sprag offer the most strength.
