Hey, just wondering if anyone out there would know where I can order Edelbrock IAS shocks in Canada. I tried Summit but they can't ship them to Canada because they are apparently "hazordous materials."

Thanks for your helpĀ

Ghoste

What city are you in, shouldn't a local speed shop be able to get them?

Back N Black

I ordered mine from Canadian Tire.   :2thumbs:

You have a far far more helpful CTC than my hometown then.  Getting help from one of the snot-nosed skateboarders is one thing but then going through the whole hassle of dealing with an older car or an item not in their regular catalog and then ORDERING it????  WTF??  ORDER IT???
It's good to know they aren't all like that.

Dodge Don

I go to Performance Improvements sometimes to order stuff.

Canadian Tire as a special performance catalog that is usually hidden away at the parts counter. It has ALOT of stuff in it that they can order, but they are all special orders that you have to pay up front for, no returns I think and you have to wait until they get shipped in to the store. The only problem is they aren't great at letting you know when they arrive....you have to keep checking in with them. I had a whack of Canadian Tire money which I used to order a pair of BFG Radial T/As from them.

Back N Black

Don, you are right. They have the performance parts catlog tucked alway. I was lucky, this guy was into old cars. It took about 2 weeks to get them, but i was in no hurry.

CurtisC

Yeah, I was able to order a set from Canadian Tire...more expensive in the end though. The guy at the counter said 10 days so I will keep checking up for awhile. Thanks for your help guys :2thumbs:

Well I got my shocks in a few days ago. I picked them up but am not sure. I think they may be the wrong ones but am unable to check as my suspension is entirely in pieces.
Reason I think they are wrong is because they are huge in comparison to the old monroes that were on there.

I took a picture to show you all.

Now I'm not entirely sure which is why I'm asking if they are right. They have all the same hardware as the monroes did though, and maybe they are right because since this is a higher quality, more expensive shock maybe they are just that much bigger.

Hope someone can help. Thanks :)

Ghoste

If you mean diameter and not length then yes, I believe the Eddy shocks are quite a bit bigger around.  Now as for the length, I can't say for sure.

Ghoste

Is there a part number on it?  (like 33840?)

Hemidog

what kind of car are you putting them on? those look right for a b-body front suspension?

CurtisC

Hey, yes the part number on it is 33840 actually. Also, they're for a 1974 Charger SE.

Ghoste

By the part number, it's the correct shock for pretty much all of the Mopar musclecars.  Do they compress to the same length as the old Monroes.

CurtisC

They are extremely stiff actually and I can't compress them. However, since it is the right part number I will assume they are the correct shock. Thanks alot for your help Ghoste and everyone else :)

Dodge Don

Hard to tell if the Eddys are too long or if the old ones are too short (they look pretty small to me).

FLG

Right part number. The eddies are probably extended out all the way and just need to be compressed when you put them in.
