... My personal preference is the no-vent '74 style, but having said that, I will pretty much take whatever I can get.

I agree... vents blow!

....not throwing good money at a plain jane charger.....

...If I were him, I would fix up the 72 Rallye before "wasting" money on a 73......

....Still I would rebuild the 72 and get rid of the 73...Don't throw good money at a worthless investment.  72 Rallyes will always hold their their value. :Twocents:

Just come out and say what's on your mind?
'74 Rallye 4spd (WH23L4) (1 of 94)
'74 Rallye Auto (WH23L4) (quad black)
'69 Swinger 340 - 4spd
'70 Duster 340 - 4spd

sounds like a poor investment... i'd put my money towards a '71, better value in the end... :Twocents:

The 72 is in Delaware, I would trade it for some new sheet metal for my 73 and a good 73' power bulge hood  :icon_smile_big: has not been tagged since 86 and was a MD car, i have a title in last registered owners name. Things "now" missing, both plastic grills, rear bumper assy. steering column, console, rallye gauges, rear glass. I have had it about a year or so with a tarp on it.

I did not know 73-74 charger hoods were different, :shruggy: guess i never noticed. Thanks for the tip, you learn something everyday :D

Yep. They are different for each year ('71-'74). The differance is in the vents. I too like the clean no vent look of the '74s. Most people don't see the subtle differences in thes cars. Like the wheel well opening size from '71/72 cars to the '73/74 cars. The hide-a-ways are different for '71 and '72. Lots of small stuff that you don't really notice untill someone points it out. Once someone does point it, out you can't help but see it.  :brickwall:
I may be schizophrenic but at least I have us!

I agree-stuff I never knew about either, like the '74 Rallye dash with the international symbols by the controls. Read today on the '71-'74 forum that the rear window brightwork is stainless on '71-'73, aluminum on '74? Guess I may be making another trip to the wreckers after a while.... ;) I know these cars don't have the mystique of the earlier ones-and I would love to have a '68-'70 sitting in my yard to keep this one company-but I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the '71-'74s...even before I got mine. Again, everyone's got their own style-I have a buddy that has 4 '64-'65 Barracudas. Early A-bodies are not my cup of tea, but he likes them & they're Mopars-that's good enough for me. My personal ownership has spanned a couple of D-body pickups, a couple of Jeeps (XJ and a 5.9 ZJ), a few Dakotas and a Durango, and a couple of CTD trucks. Had the chance to buy quite a few neat cars over the years that I passed on-when you look back now, you just have to shake your head....I passed on a '69 Super Bee in the early '90s for $750 because it had Bondo in the 1/4s and a swapped in 440 in place of the original 383  :rotz:

@ silvercloud, in 1992 i traded even up a 1985 dodge Diplomat X cop car for a daily driven FK5 burnt orange WM23VOA 1970 Dodge Superbee with burnt orange interior, console auto. The car had a 383 in it, besides not #'s matching was a nice driver. I drove the car daily as well for a while, Herb from Herbs Mopar parts bought it from me. I wish i had kept it.
