I start to clean up the engine wire harness and other electric stuff. This is how they spliced in a broken wire :brickwall:

My car looked the same...real great monkey wiring  :rotz:

At least put some tape over it, sheesh

Think its always best to solder the connections together, but if not possible use a metal (no plastic around it) connector and some heat shrink tubing works great and looks neat.

I am replacing the clamps, wires and terminals anyway.
Electric bugs is the last thing I want to encounter because it's a PIA.  :P

Hey, someone took alot of pride in that fine repair job  :eek2: at least it wasn't a wire nut for house wiring, I found a couple of those while redoing mine  :smilielol:

checking that battery terminal conditions, I would replace the complete stuff... or remake at home complete with an aftermarket terminal and new complete wire, reusing just the main one.

easy fix: new terminal, new wire to relay and new 'eye-terminal', this way it will look clean and give no problems.
