Installing door panels in 69 charger

I am putting in a new set of door panels in my 69.  I installed one but it looks like it should be in the metal strip higher then it is judging by the contour of the panel.  I tried to push it up higher on the passenger side but I cannot force it by hand and am afraid of bending the molding or the panel.  I know the PUI panel I have are thicker on the top strip then my originals I took off a couple years ago.  My molding are mint and I don't want to screw anything up.  Any info would be great.

Thanks in advance

Can you post a picture of the issue? That might help with a fix.

Thanks

trying to get one.  I talked to a guy who does this stuff for a living and he said that this is pretty normal for lower door pads as a reproduction.  I can't fit it all the way up into the silver molding separating it from the upper pad, at least not as much as I would like. With the door handles one you really can't tell they  are a little low, it looks like the board backing is not real even.
