Pardon my ignorance here, but since it's not easy to find a bulge hood for a 3rd gen without paying crazy prices, I'm looking at fiber glass ones...but I don't know the difference, and there's a price difference involved between bolt on and snap ons, and I just want to buy the right one...

The bolt on one is pretty much like the stock hood. You can use your hinges etc. But you will need softer springs as the stock ones could break your hood. The lift off ones does not use the springs, it just lifts off, but you'll need hood pins for that.

Depending on how nice your paint is a lift off hood might be a disaster in waiting. It takes two people to take it off and if you have a nice finish on your car one slip and it's not nice anymore.  :Twocents:
