Looking at the pictures, the description, and his answers to the questions, there is no way I would bid on that car!  Lots of original parts gone, says he has a buildsheet, then says he is looking for one!  Will not let anyone inspect the car before bidding or buying, claims it has non-original connecting rods , but the motor is original then says the numbers do not match on the 440 engine!

wAAAAAYYY to many red flags here!

Hmmm, very interesting.  The thing is in real poor shape if you ask me.  Looks o.k, in small pictures, but that thing needs to be taken apart and serious work done.  Lots and lots of money to get it restored. Lots.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Id rather have a A12 Coronet myself. I do like the vitamin C orange though.

Way to many red flags though.

What did the A12 package include besides the six pack and fiberglass hood?

Why would someone move the hood up about 2" ? unless thay added it? Did A12 cars not have the boxed frame rails also? and what about skid plate on front K member? and 14" wheels? I thought they had 15" ? older rebody I would say? It happened 20 years ago also.

"I am selling this vehicle for a friend"

Translation: I stumbled upon this car owned by an elderly couple and want to see what kind of profit I can make before buying it myself.  ::)

This guy doesn't even own the car. I'm sure the old couple wants around 15K for the car, and he's looking to flip it before even having to move the thing. That's page 47 in the flippers handbook...."Learn How to Sell without wasting Money on moving it from it's location".  :P

ps- The "Next Bid Meets Reserve" thing usually means it's being shilled.  :Twocents:

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

CharcoalCharger

It's funny.  This guy claims he is selling it for a friend, she knows what she has and what is is worth, but they want to see what they could get.  First they "lowered" the reserve, and now the car has been relisted!  They should have gotten the info they wanted the first time it was up for auction.  People haven't bombarded the guy with questions yet, so the ad isn's as funny as the first one yet.  It's on my watch list to see what happens.

no on either.  they started out as 383 cars...check the bottom row of numbers on the fender tag--E63.  no special chassis mods and don't know why--all chrysler had to do was spec out Hemi mods to be welded in before paint...

What did the A12 package include besides the six pack and fiberglass hood?

dana 60 axle with 4.10 gears (that's the 999 on the fender tag)
hemi-spec auto or 18 spline 4 speed
15" "H" stamp hemi/police steel wheels, painted black, chrome lug nuts, no center caps, Goodyear G70-15 redline tires (unique application)
max cool package
edelbrock aluminum intake
super duty valve springs
specific cam, 3 bolt timing chain mount, different specs, different taper on lobes requiring specific six pack lifters
sodium filled exhaust valves

most options were available as the would be on a Hemi (no air, cruise, etc.) and most were ordered without many comforts, but you could get power steering, power discs or drums, deluxe buckets, a hardtop, console, tach, vinyl top, light package, etc.

'69 motors did not have "six pack" rods, either--didn't show up until '70.
