  think the cars in the first video you posted might well be something to do with the FAST  racing series  ,  factory appearing stock tire

I'd love to see how quick the cars could get if they allowed "day 2" modifications like exhaust headers and slightly better tires.  You'd have to draw the line pretty early (if you let them go "day 3" it would end up being Pro Stock) but it would be a better picture of how fast a sleeper could be while appearing stock in the big picture.  Stuff like dog-dish hubcaps on highly optioned musclecars were not the way the cars ever really looked on the street.

That hemi charger 500 video is awesome! commentator is super funny. I'd like to see that car go around that track with some modern wheels and tires instead of those stupid pizza cutters and 14" or 15" wheels.  Sidewalls dont do much good in the corners. I bet there were marks all the way to the beads the way those tires were laying over.
