I've managed to get a good bit of work done on the car: exhaust, new tank, new head gaskets...But this has me stumped. It looks like something is missing from this picture. I wouldn't even know what the part was called that should cover up this part of the transmission. Please advise

Is it pretty standard? Would I have to know the type of transmission I have (which I don't)

Know where I can buy one?

:scratchchin:  I may have an extra in the garage, otherwise most salvage yard or someone else here.  I will check and see what I have.

I believe they are also reproducing that piece now also, if you cant locate a used one.

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I am missing that same piece.  I got very confused when I went to pull the motor from the tranny as the book says to remove that cover but I didn't have the cover.  They sell them new and they don't cost very much.
