i JUST WON A 440 BLOCK/CRANK WITH SEIZED PISTONS......

According to the numbers posted can any of you old timers or charger aficionados tell what this stuff means???

casting #?? 2536430-8

  cast date 4-5-67

id on the D440 IS 10  10  2 C AND IS REPORTED TO BE MALTESE CROSS????

Any info is greatly appreciated!!!!


by the way the ebay bid item is #230140428452  not sure if you can pull it up after it has been sold.....???

Nice score, the crank is probably worth more than what you payed for it.

I beleive the cross meant the crank is .010 undersized on the main bearings. Not a big deal you can turn them down to .030 and still find bearings easily.

As for the numbers, its a 68 non-hp 440, probably from a C body car if I was to guess.

I was told that maltese cross can also mean the casting has higher nickel content.
