Hi,

I am considering the installation of the Hooker ceramic coated 1 7/8" header, not Super Comp ones. Anyone ever use these and how do they fit? I'm installaing in stock 70 440 RR. Any issues around plugs, steering and starter? They are around $450, I'm having a hart time justifying the same TTI unit for 900+

Thanks

Go with the FACTORY HP exhaust manifolds. :yesnod: :Twocents:

Chryco Psycho

we used a set of those , they hit everything & the flanges were too tall & the lip for the valve cover held the header away from the head at the top of the ports , my customer regretted spending a few $$ more for Dougs or TTi

I used them on my 71 charger, only reason I used them is because I had them sitting on the shelf from a few years ago. I have eddy heads and the headers needed clearancing for the angle plugs on the number 2 pipe for both the 2 and 4 plug, also the number 8 tube needed a ding for the 8 plug lead. The drivers side header needed clearancing for the power steer on the 5 pipe but it was fine for the plugs. They fitted better than I expected but if I didn't have them allready I wouldn't have bought them. Better off to buck up for the TTI's.

I went with Flowtech. Had to fit one pipe that would have hit the torsion bar. Tons of room for the stock starter. Fine with angle plug heads too.
My 1969 Charger. RIP......Rest in pieces.

TTi's.  I'd gladly eat Top Ramen for a few months instead of eating out if it meant that I could have the literally guaranteed fitment of the TTi's.  You really do get what you pay for, in this instance, and your plug wires/boots will thank you for it...

Good to know about the Hooker, no pun intended. I just sold a car yesterday so now I can reconsider TTI. Thanks.

You might want to checkout Schumacher Creative Services they have a couple of very decent, well fitting, street/strip or mid level performance, Tri-Y & regular headers for Mopars , www.engine-swap.com

I picked up a set of TTI's on Ebay and saved a couple hundred. New never installed.
