how do you drive a ratchet shifter?

how do i drive a ratchet shifter and what kinda  attachemnt do i need that goes from the steel cable at the end of the shifter to the tanny hookup.i can move it under the car.how do i hook it up.it is a b&m ratchet shifter.

You pull the lever under the shifter, you put it in drive, STOP.  You then pull it again and put it in low/1.  When you want to shift you simply slap/bump(literally just bump) the shifter up to 2, then slap/bump the shifter to drive.

Hope this helps, I have the same shifter, keep the cable away from the exhaust manifold/headers by the way.  I've gone through 2 shifter cables before I bought a heat sock and also hooked the cable to a thing I fabricated.  That cable will melt in a second of you route it wrong.
