What's your take on this idea?

I have a 1970 roadrunner with the factory 22" wide radiator core.The car also has a 22" opening in the core support. I'm curious if you think a griffin 2 core radiator with 1.250 width tubes will be adequate enough to cool a 505ci engine with 10.5 compression. The other thought would be to adapt a 26" wide radiator with the same 2 rows. If i go with the wider core i will NOT cut the opening in the core support to match. My thought is that the extra water capacity and the length on the tubes will have a little  more heat dissapation. I'm running the engine on a test stand right now, and the stock 2 row radiator is not going to hack it. Thanks for your imput.

Just bought the same radiator for my 505 with blower, so I certainly hope it stays cool. No room for a mechanical fan, just an electric pusher. I should find out in about 1 week.

yep the same , but mine is 26 " inches  3 row"s  , two electric pusher fans,
will be at idle and heavy traffic that you will need some extra air flow,
run a seperate oil cooler for transmission and take the extra duty heat away from radiator, every little bit will help, trans fluid potentially going to be as hot as coolant,
think radiator shroud to concentrate fan pull through radiator, most important part i think is a good shroud to make the fan work

My car is a 4 speed, so I will not  order one with the trans cooler. So do you both have the 22" opening on the core support?

I run a stock radiator in my 500" stroker with 10.52 compression.  I don't drive in stop and go traffic, but in moderate traffic I haven't had any problems except vapor lock on a really hot day, but even when that happens the temp gauge is fine.
