I have a 1974 Charger with a 318 2bl all stock. The car stalls and dies  when cold and hesitates and sometimes stalls out when hot. Sometimes when hot she is hard to start. Is it a fuel or ignition problem?

Whens the last time you did a tune up? If its been quite awhile id do a full tuneup. Also whens the last time the carburetor was rebuilt? 30 or so years of sitting really takes a toll on them and its more then likely in need of a rebuild.

I agree that a tuneup and good carb are the primary areas to look at. But my son's 74 318 had similar problems that did not go away till we ended up replacing the ignition box.

Yeah, my 318 did this and it and the carb ended up being the problem.
