Question about MP elec ignition timing

I put a MP elec ignition on my 440 Charger. The instructions say to set initial idle mechanical timing at 5* BTDC and it idles fine when I do. Then it says to set it at 38* BTDC at 2000 RPM. When I go to 2000 RPM, the timing is around 25* BTDC. I adjust it to 38* and it runs much better but when I go back to idle, the timing there is now around 20* BTDC and it idles rough. Is there another adjustment in the distributor so I can get 5* at idle and 38* at 2000 RPM both? Is it a spring issue or what? And yes, I'm setting it with the vacuum hose disconnected and the port on the carb plugged.

I'am looking forward to the answer on this one as I plan on using this combination.  I note the offering by Bouchillon Performance:

They say that the advance curve is not what you want as supplied in the new Mopar Performance distributors.  This may have no bearing on your problem.  Don't know.  Seems like Mr. Gasket sold a spring set to replace the one that comes in the Mopar Performance distributor.

On a side note:  when I looked up the part at the Bouchillon Performance website I noticed they sell a ballast resistor that looks a lot like the old originals.  And it's only $5.69  and they say it will work with points or electronic and the stock coil.  I had no idea this part existed until I just saw it.  They do have some interesting parts.

the vacuum advance is adjustable. turn the allen head bolt inside the vacuum advance diaphram.
