A friend of a friend has overed me some engines and I was wondering if you all thought it may be a good deal. I have not seen them yet though-but I will soon. There are around 5 I think

*392 Hemi complete
*392 Hemi 75% complete
*354 Hemi 75 % complete x2
*331 Hemi complete?

I know not the best to go on, but he only wants $1000 for everything plus some parts. What do you all think? Anything I should keep in mind or look out for?

I can remember in the 80's when you couldn't give them boat anchors away. Going prices then were $100-$300 each. Nowadays the Street rodders love them for that Nostalgic look. LEON.

Some of the 331`hemi's came with a bell housing for the fluid drive tranny as one piece with the block.  I don't think you can attach a 4 speed our a torque flight to these blocks.  You might want to make sure your noy buying boat anchors.

That is correct. But there is a guy I beleive he is located in california that cuts the bell housing off the back of the engine and drills and taps it out to be able to bolt up a torqueflite or a 4 speed. The auto and 4 speed  both have the same bolt pattern.
