Strippers show up at children's golf event

BROOMFIELD (KUSA) - A youth golf league has apologized to parents after young golfers came in contact with a more "adult" crowd.
 

Gold Crown Junior Golf Association says the mix-up was the fault of Eagle Trace Golf Course in Broomfield. The golf course cited a "miscommunication" on the part of the golf league.

Young golfers, ages 7 to 12, had not completed their Monday morning tournament before participants arrived in limousines for the Shotgun Willie's Charity Golf Tournament. The latter event featured patrons of the strip club paired with dancers who served as caddies. "It was mistiming," said Eagle Trace Manager Evelyn Koch.

Koch says she has personally apologized to angry parents who have called Eagle Trace. She admits the exotic dancers should not have been in the clubhouse at the same time as the children, but downplayed the idea that the kids witnessed risqué behavior.  "I cannot tell you the girls didn't flash out there," Koch said. "But it wasn't a free-for-all."

"There was nothing inappropriate going on around the clubhouse when the kids were around," said golf instructor Dustin Moser, who said the racier action took place later. "There was a handful of girls that got a little out of control." Moser admitted several dancers were scolded for "top-dropping."

Golf course workers say the Shotgun Willie's dancers were not allowed to strip down to their bikinis until after the children had been picked up by their parents. "They were not allowed to go topless," said Koch. "They were just flirting with the guys."

"When I walked into the club house to look for my girls, I saw a woman straddling a male at a dining table," said a mother who picked up her two children at the golf club. The woman, who asked not to be identified, contacted KUSA-TV after the story was first reported. She says she felt Eagle Trace Golf Club was trying to minimize what happened. She says her children had quite a few questions on the ride home.

"'Mom, why is she only wearing underwear?'" she recalled. "'Mom, why are the girls wearing white and why do the men have water guns?'"    Koch claims she notified Gold Crown that its youth tournament would precede the Shotgun Willie's event. In an e-mail to parents, Gold Crown Golf Coordinator Jim Hunt denied any advance warning was given about the adult nature of the other tournament. "Please accept our sincere and heartfelt apology," said Hunt in his e-mail. "This type of activity is totally unacceptable around our programming and we do not condone the type of behavior your children may have witnessed."

Gold Crown declined an on camera interview with KUSA-TV. The Shotgun Willie's tournament featured 144 golfers and 70 caddies, according to a club manager. The tournament benefits The Michaela Foundation, a breast cancer charity. The charity's Web site describes the annual fundraising event as "always wild."

Where do I begin...this dumb broad calls the tv station because there were strippers in the same room as her kids for 5 minutes?  I have 2 young kids and i will say that I truly believe that there is a time and place for everything...except when it comes to strippers.  the rules absolutely do not apply to them.

Tell me that you wouldn't be hysterical laughing at friday night beers with the guys when you rehash the story of the old lady picking up the kiddies from stripper golf?   that shit is too funny!!
