I have a stock Dana 60. I just installed some SS Springs and wondering if I should or can upgrade my pinion flange frome driveshaft to rearend. What # pinion flange does a stock Dana 60 have? Should I also upgrade my u-joints? Do I upgrade my driveshaft u-joint straps? I just don't want to break or drop my driveshaft and u-joints with the new SS Springs? My rear hooks harder with the new springs. :icon_smile_big: Sorry for the dumb question.   Sorry, I think I posted this in the wrong section.

You can pick up a nice forged 1350 yoke from Dr. Diff... or any of the other retailers like Mancini or some ebay type retailers also.     Most are made by an outfit called Victory IIRC from E-booger correctly anyhow.
They come with U bolts as opposed to the strap deal from the factory.    IIRC they're 29 spline.   Definitely not 10.

The only problem with this is that there is no 7290 to 1350 conversion U joint available... so you'd have to change your shaft also which might as well go all 1350.    I still plan on getting a 1350 shaft..  I just lucked out and was able to get a 1330 to 1350 Joint for my Keisler shaft.

At least changing a dana yoke doesn't require new crush sleeve or anything.  Just a lot of brute force to get the nut loose and also to torque it.    It laughed at my impact.  You also need a thin wall 1 5/16 3/4 drive socket.    You can buy a $7 one at autozone and grind it down to fit with a lot less guilt than when I ground down a new Craftsman socket.

My friend George took out his stock dana yoke awhile back on the 573 hemi RR... messed up his 727 in addition to needing a new yoke and shaft.

Ricky, i have the forged style 1330 yoke on mine with the u-bolts.....got it from Cass and it came on the D60 i bought from him. There is also a 7290 > 1330 conversion u-joint available so you can bolt it up to your stock driveshaft. Give Cass a ring and he can set you up  :2thumbs:
