I'm not experienced with carbs - I know a little bit on Edelbrock 4 barrel carbs, but nothing when it comes to Holleys.

Well, I'm working on a 318 73' Charger project car trying to put it together as the previous owner had it a mess.  I bought a new rebuilt carb for it at Autozone and it did not come with any instructions that tells you what hoses go where.  I went to Holley's website to contact tech support, and they told me they have no info on my carb, a 64-1174 model.

So now I have to ask your assistance in putting the proper hoses where they should go.  I searched in my engine bay to find a few unhooked hoses, so hopefully with these pictures you can guide me to properly hook up my carb.  Some of the hoses on the firewall (you'll see in the pics below) have came off the engine bay...so I hope they make replacements...otherwise I might be screwed  :o

I do appreciate you taking the time in solving this matter.  And for that...I uh...give you a virtual beer

ok, i give it a try!!!

1st picture: is that on the firewall? if so, it is most like the vent for the blower fan to keep the motor cool, they do make repops, i have seen them on ebay

2nd picture: vacuum lines for cruise control?  did your car come with cruise? OR  did you have a manual windshield washer and that is the lines for the manual foot pump to push washer fluid?

3rd picture:  vent going to your charcoal canister on pass. side front

4th picture: small hose goes for vacuum to your heater control valve or your vacuum lines on passenger side firewall to control interior a/c and vent box controls (they ran off of vacuum, were not mechanical)

5th picture: pcv valve and the blue, keep capped

6th picture: keep capped.

your carb was made to fit many different years of vehicles, take that into consideration.  if you have CARB NOx valve, then the black or blue capped vacuum line will most like run to the valve and return to either of the two.  I ripped the emissions stuff off on my car a long time ago, so i forget, but you can keep those capped with no issues.  lastly, the white port and metal port (both in front) I am pretty sure the metal one is for PCV valve and the other is just a vent that would have your charcoal canister plugged into.

Okay, so this was actually a lot of help.  I am not familiar with emissions. I wish they did repop the Charcoal Cannister so I can have everything hooked up the way it should be properly - even if it isn't that useful.

As for the metal black capped plug on the front of the carb, how can that be PCV?  I have my PCV hooked up the hose to a port in the back.  When I compared it to another car, that seemed to be the logical place for it...unless I hooked it up in the wrong place for this carb.

Oh, and yes those hoses are on the firewalls.  My windshield wiper is controlled electrically, so I don't think they were used for that.  Also, I don't believe the car had cruise control.

Ack...I forgot to mention....The hoses for the Air Cleaner...where on the carb do they hook to?

Judhudson

Ok...so here is a small bump and a few more questions...

As of now, I have the PCV valve hose going to the back of my Carb (see the last picture) on the very bottom.  Is this the correct location for that, or should it go to to the port on the front with the black cap (5th pic)?  What are the correct locations for these 2 ports?

Also, I have the blue cap port now hooked up to my EGR.  Is that suppose to control that?

Last but not least, I suppose for the small black capped port in the back of the carb (6th pic) routes to the air cleaner, correct?

I wish the Holley Tech support would be more help  :rotz:

Nevermind!  Checked out the public library's old books and found what I needed.  Been a long time since I last stepped in there :P
