Will 18x9 wheel with 295/45/18 tire fit on rear of 70 Charger???

Hey,
WOuld anyone know if a 18x8 rim with a 295/45/18 inch tire fit in the rear of a 70 Charger with 4.5 inch backspacing?

Would a 18x7 wheel fit the front with a 245/45/18 series tire on it?

Depends on what the overall diameter is. Typically the largest 15" wheel/tire that will fit on the back of a 2nd gen Charger is a 15X10 with 295/50R15s at 26.7" in diameter. Anything wider than about 12 1/2" or taller than 27" will give you some trouble and some people have trouble with this combo. Your offset sounds good. I don't think anything less than 4" offset will work.

I think you may have some rubbing issues with a 295 tire with a 4.5" back spacing.
I have 275's on an 8" rim w/ 4.5" bs and it is pretty close.

I believe that it will fit. An older member R2 ran 15x8 Weld Pro Star's with 4.5" of bs and 295/65/15 BFG Drag Radials. So, I believe that both of those combos will fit. Another option is to crawl under the car and start measuring. That way you know for sure if they'll fit. Good luck !

You should be fine - I'm running an 18x10 wtih a P285/40/ZR18 on the rear with no problemd with 4.5" of backspacing.

I've got 15x10" with 295/50/15s with 5" backspacing and it is a match made in heaven.

dear spud racer, you just cleared my head ache! i have a 68 with 15x7, 3 1/4 backspaced, a.r.e daisymags, fitted with 275/60/15 tyres   and they used to catch i when i had my kyb gas adjust shocks fitted, i used air shocks last summer to get me out of a jam, but i want to run qa1 shocks this year, i measured the arches the other day and i was pretty certain i could get a 15x8, 5" backspaced wheel in there, but over here in england 1 daisymag costs nearly$400 so i have to get it right first time.
are your springs in the stock locaition and are the wheel tubs standard? thanks for any info bye for now trev

I know these aren't daisymags but I have 15x8s with 295/50/15 on the back of mine with only 4" backspacing,  these hoosiers rub on corners but the BFG radials I use on the street are a bit smaller despite supposedly being the same size, they rub a bit when the boot is full and I have a full tank of gas,I was thinking of raising the rear slightly anyway

That's the size Big Red ran and the owner had no problems that I know of...

hello jon, how are you mate, loaded up is when i have bother as well, my worry is if anything happens to the tyre when i have passengers in, my aim for the car is to have it handle reasonably well, and turn in a decent q/m time at the pod next year, i want to use decent shocks all round, but this will lower the rear of car again, better for weight transfer i guess, but crap for cathching once loaded up to drive home, so i figure get the correct backspacing then i can have my 275's fitted without them catching, northants tyre can supply alloy daisys with custom offsets for  £200each, the only bugger is, my ones are the obsolete chrome steel cp200's, so i will have to get a full set so they will match!
p.s are you going to use air shocks or longer shackles to raise your car?

I've got mopar performance spring hangers Trev and a body superstock springs, they have more than one mounting hole, its in the top hole now so the car sits low
