Where is the best (cheapest) place to get a flexplate? Engine is a '71 383 HP . . .

John_Kunkel

Lots of them on ebay, just be sure the bolt size and bolt circle matches your converter; a stock 383 HP would use 5/16" bolts and a 10" bolt circle.

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Jackson,

440source sells a nice solid disc flexplate that is identical to the B&M sfi (race) plate which is a very strong piece. It is drilled for any converter combination you might come across as well. All of the aftermarket converters come with a 10in bolt pattern and the better ones use larger 7/16 bolts as opposed to the stock converter which uses 5/16 bolts. Either way you're covered with the 440 source plate....and it's a bargain at $29.95  :2thumbs:
