MPG on a '73 400? How much for Transmission? A/C?

I'm well aware these questions may be retarded and blasphemous and really, really retarded but they must be asked. I've had my car for 8 months or so.

1.Just curious, what should my general mileage be on my '73 400 charger?

and are there any ways to save on gas (i'm a newbie but i of course didn't get it for the mpg!) besides not stomping them horses? (which, by the way, is AWESOME).

and is there any way to take out my 400 (i wouldn't get rid of it) and put in a 318? i know, i know, you all probably want to kick me hard for even asking such a question and asking such a thing is definitely worthy of a ban  :icon_smile_big:

...since it's always about more rather than less. but i have my reasons, i'm still a student and within a year or so i'll probably be getting rid of my other ride, which is a '97 maxima. i just really, really enjoy driving the charger and 8 months in, still hasn't gotten old. i don't think it ever will. love my car. so if i can drive it more, that's a plus.

2.also, my transmission is going to be rebuilt...what are the general good prices for a rebuild and labor? how long do they usually take? they'll pretty much be doing everything, by the way.

3. summer pretty much is here in hot louisiana...and i need an a/c unit (and the brackets). so, how do i go about this? what's a good, modern a/c unit to put into my car? prices? websites? any info?

thanks!

what do you mean?

there are places I can ship it off to for that cheap?

I'd need someone to pull it out/put it back in though. or is that something I can do? and if so, are there certain tools and certain things I need for that?
