Alright, when it comes to installing my engine and transmission, I don't have the means to bring it in from the bottom. Therefore, I'm wondering as to what order I should do everything? Engine and trans in at the same time? Engine first? Trans first? Headers on or off, etc.

Thanks!

I would put the engine and trans in as a unit.  Get some help as you have to tilt it downward pretty far.  Leave off the headers and fan.  Definitely do not install the radiator so you will have more clearance and won't take a chance of damaging it.  Need to have the car lifted somewhat so you can get under it to install transmission crossmember.

The way I have done it is , Set trans in place on top of rear crossmember(couple inches back from final location) That has the rear housing resting on crossmember use a strong tow strap across the torsion bars to hold front of trans.Lower engine onto the mounts.Leave engine hoist on to hold the angle right.Use a floor jack to slide trans forward.Start tightening bolts.
Check the header instructions, you may need to lift engine slightly.

I've done it both ways....engine and trans as a unit and seperately as described above. Either way will work but you need a tall hoist if you want to install it as a unit.  :yesnod:

I allways install the headers afterwards from below and jack up the engine. Drivers side first.  ;)

I doubt the hoist I have is tall enough, but I would love the luxury of bolting the trans/converter, etc. up outside of the car.

So . . .

Transmission in with torque converter, engine in with flexplate, headers in with engine on the hoist still to move it, then put the engine down and pull the trans to it, then mate torque converter and flywheel? Does that sound good?
