I just made a trial fit of my 512 stroker crank into my 440 block and it did not look like it would need any clearancing and none at the oil dipstick boss either. Is this common?

did you put the connecting rods on the crank...   usually the crank clears and the only problem stops is the con rods...     but maybe you got lucky   :2thumbs:

No issues with mine either its virtually a bolt in, I did grind a little off of the oil pick-up tube boss just for a little more insurance. It almost doesn't seem right does it?

my kit was a 528" and no grinding needed.  but I did run a exsternal oil system.  :2thumbs:

The oil tube was the only thing that needed to be modified but it was an aftermarket pickup so maybe a stock pick up would clear. But that was it, nothing else needed touched.
