Loc: Illinois   '70 Charger 500 with left over Daytona Parts?????

Anyone else see the new June 2008 Musclecar Review magazine article about the 70 charger 500?

States in article that "The '70 charger 500 was supposed to have a flat hood, but that wasn't the case with this particular car." Then goes on to say that any fan of 69 daytonas would recognize the cars hood as one originally intended to go on a winged car??????? Looks just like a stock charger hood to me...

Also, they show a picture of the underside of the trunk lid which "reveals mysterious holes, which turn out to be attachment points for the '69 Daytona wing mounts." Since when did daytona wings get mounted to the trunk lid????

It says that a "dodge expert" at the Mopar Nationals one year told him; the owner that the pieces were left-over '69 dodge daytona parts. WOW!!!!

Bubba tried to mount his daytona wing to the trunk lid, but every time he opened the trunk to get a beer out of the cooler, he knocked that back winder out.  :D

Normal is an illusion. What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly.

How sad that he was at a show like the Nats when he got his bogus info and neither the expert or the owner of the 70 happened to look around at any of the Daytona's on the property that day and notice.  That to me, is just as bad as no one at the musclecar magazine catching it.

Old Moparz

Well, at least we now know where all the car show experts get there info from.

You know who I mean, like the guy who comes over to you while you're standing with your Charger & he insists that his uncle had the 383 six-pak Hemi in his Challenger just like yours.

Except that now that it has been in a print it will quickly become accepted as fact.  I would hope they print a retraction next issue but there is a better chance of the price of fuel going down.

Welp, all my research and money saving is out the window!  :brickwall:

As an aside, has anyone else here written Musclecar Review and taken them to task for this glaring mistake?
