How much of a problem is it to change out a power steering gearbox in a 69 charger with the engine in the car? Engine is a 440.  Thanks.

not that hard to do.  You will need a 12 point socket to get out the bolts that hold it into the k-frame.  You will also need a pitman arm puller and a large adjustable wrench or the correct socket.  You will also need to pop off the dust cover and pull out the steering column to get the clearence to remove the box.

That sounds great.  No need to jack the engine?

not when I did it from what I recall.  I think you need to remove the starter to get better clearance too though.

I had to pull the headers off mine...not fun  :icon_smile_sad:

with HP manifolds you should only need to remove the starter....

I got one from firm feel.  Got the stage 2.  I think there is a place called Steer and Gear that does these too.
