HELP: weird coding on build sheet for 1970 car

For those of you that have 1970 cars, E bodys especially, I am trying to break down the build sheet for a car that we are looking at.  The build sheet is very well intact and slightly dirty (not bad) and has lots of crumple marks on it.  The car has a build date of 928 and is a 1970 production model.  However, the build sheet has E series 1969 at the top of the sheet.  Now trying to decode it, the numbers/letters that are typed on it are half way up and out of the box but it is in the right location otherwise.  Possibly due to misaligning the pin feed for the paper.  When I try to decode it to a 1969 E series sheet, the codes are somewhat off but exactly match the format for what a 1970-71 format broadcast sheet would be.  Areas such as the paint color section on line 2 codes would match up to the configuration of what the 1970 style build sheet format would be, not the 1969 one that it is printed on.  Same problem with line 3 of the steering column section.

Was this common since it was an early built car and it was probably during the transition or could this be a fraudulent sheet?  If I can, I will try to post a pic of the build sheet sections later.

There seem to be a lot of 1970 F series car broadcast sheets printed on 1969 E series format sheets. It's not uncommon to see one but it does make it hard to read especially if you do not have a correct 1970 layout for comparison.
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

Yep, that's what happened.

Barry Washington has a narrative and example(s) of things like that on his site:

Yep, it is very common. I got your email as well.

Barry, I checked out the "factory mistakes" section on your site.  All I can say is your site is VERY IMPRESSIVE!  I had checked it out in the past a couple times for items for my 69 charger and just had the opportunity to start checking out the 70 challenger areas and info.  Looks like I will have some fun ahead of me when I start to break down the rest of the build sheet.

Thanks again for everyones replies.

Once you get the car, the first thing to do is look for more sheets. You may find another one in the car that is printed on the correct 1970 revision sheet.  If you send a scan or photo of the sheet you have, I can tell you where it was found in the car in most cases, then point you towards places that may not have been checked yet.
