I got a pin hole leak in my rad that I tried patching with one of those push in putties that harden. Well It worked for a while but its started leaking again and I cant solder it cause its on the side of the rad. Plus its been patched like 20 times before. Question is should I just yank it and get the top tank replaced. Or would it be cheaper / better off getting an aluminum rad. I dont really need one as I dont have cooling problems as it is but If the cost wont be much more I might as well do it. ???

have you tried stop leak or bars leak?  if you do this is how i apply it.  take the stop leak and add it to 1/2 gallon of water or antifreeze and mix it up thoroughly.  Remove 1/2 gallon from your radiator.  Start up your engine and let it get to operating temperature.  Add the stop leak/antifreeze mix.

By doing it this way, a concentrated form of the stop leak is not administered to the top of your radiator.  This method will ensure that all areas will get enough stop leak appropriately to stop the leak.  Also, doing it this way will not clog up your heater core.  Dont ask me how I know :D

I'd replace it.  If what you have works for you, Modine probably makes a replacement for it.

The leak is in the top. Wouldent I want it in the top?

Try some Alumi Seal, the powder type, first. The 3-5$ is a lot cheaper that a re-core or new radiator. but if the pin hole is in the very top, above the water line, I would only give it a 10% chance of working. below the water line, I would say 95% chance of working for a pin hole as you say. if you want to read more I just posted this a few minutes ago http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,4229.0.html

Good luck
