Rear spring front mount - anyone lowered their car by switching it around?

I'm sure this has probably been covered before, I tried searching but couldn't find the answer. Please don't shoot if it's a dumb question!
Has anyone tried to lower their 2nd gen by inverting the rear spring front mount? It seems to me to be an easy way to lose almost an inch of ride height.

Or is it a crazy idea?

I considered that myself but wouldn't it through off the pinion angle somewhat?

My shot leaf springs have it lowered enough!

Yes, PROBLEM!!!

The studs have different offset measurements. You'd have to drill or elongate the holes in the car to get them to fit upside down. Not so good... 

If you're looking to lower your car, why not just go with the brandy-new ones from AR Engineering? They have different mounting holes that will lower your car about 1 - 1-1/2". At $65 bucks, it'll at least save you some possible suspension headaches.

Thanks Bill. Great advice - as always!  I think Mancini stocks ARE stuff. 
Might be a good idea to get some Hemi-style reinforcement plates while I'm at it!

blocks to keep pinion angle. If you don't care about, then the new aftermarket hangers. Rick Ehrembergh ( sp? ) also carries them.

as stated, need to enlarge holes ( pic attached ).

Mopar also sells correcting pinion angle shims or angled spacers if you decide to change the front hanger location height. I thhink summit have them. No matter if turning down bracket or aftermarket one, pinion anlge needs to be checked.
