I'm not so sure I'd be begging for mommy's help. Remember the first court appearance?
QuoteAs a city prosecutor said during closing arguments that Hilton deserved jail time, Hilton's mother, Kathy, laughed. When the judge ruled, Kathy Hilton then blurted out: "May I have your autograph?"

When a reporter asked what she thought of the judge's decision, a visibly angry Kathy Hilton responded: "What do you think? This is pathetic and disgusting, a waste of taxpayer money with all this nonsense. This is a joke."

...

Hilton had arrived at the Metropolitan Courthouse 10 minutes late and ignored screams of photographers as she swept in with her attorneys, mother and father, Rick Hilton.

Total disrespect. I'd have doubled the sentence just for that. Perhaps that's why I'm not a judge... ;)

FYI: a DUI here in Ohio carries up to a 1 year jail sentence and a 1 year license suspension (automatic). She pleaded down the DUI to a reckless op charge after failing the sobriety test. However, driving under suspension carries up to a 6 month jail sentence and she got busted twice for that. So, three charges since September? Believe me, a good lawyer can do wonders and I'm sure the Hiltons have the best (three actually) so if she's still getting stuck with jail time then there's probably some evidence out there that was put under wraps the first time. The Hiltons and their lawyers know this which is why they didn't follow through with the appeal they promised.

Regardless of that, I'm sure it's the system that's out to screw them... :blahblah: :coocoo:

Something similar with a much more tragic result.  In Durham Region, just East of Toronto a young woman, around 20 years old, was busted for impaired driving about a year ago.  In ON, a one year suspension of the driver's license and a fine.  Jail time is also possible.  Anyways, her folks had some coin and some clout in town and ended up pulling some strings to get the charges dropped.

Around three weeks ago, impaired behind the wheel once again, she ran her car into some construction equipment at the side of the road doing 170 kmp/h at 3:00 AM.  She was killed along with one of her friends.

I'd say it was her parents who were the ones that played a major role in her death.

You got that right. Who do these people think they are helping when they allow their children to go through life not having to face any consequences? Would these same people refuse to pull their drowning child out of the lake by the hair because it might hurt their precious little scalp?

The problem is that everyone says that about other people's kids but when their kids do the same thing there's always denial, disbelief, and always someone else's fault. So they do their best to get them out of trouble, especially if the law is involved.
Lots of people talkin' , few of them know

Paris Hilton makes Britney Spears seem like a deep & interesting person.

The ironic thing is that those couple of nights in jail probably WERE the most traumatic thing in her life, and she probably DID get taught the same kind of lesson that would have taken the rest of us 90 days in the slam to learn.  (But I'm not defending her quick release.  Justice should be blind.)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
