found a 79 duster steeler edition. is it worth restoring??

has anyone ever sen or heard of a 79 duster steeler edition? it's basically a volare two door. tan interior with a black exterior and some decals. was wondering if it is a rare ca and worth restoring? thanks for any input!! :cheers:

I think the 79' Duster edition of the Volare is a fairly rare car on its own.  I think there were only a couple thousand produced but I could be wrong.  Do you have any pics?

the car i'm talking about a lady has that her dad bought new at a dealership in pittsburgh, pa. it really is a solid car and she has a bunch of extra parts i guess he bought for it years ago. i can get the car for $500. it does run too....

I like the F body Mopars, and owned my share of them in the past. But I never heard of the Steeler Ed.  :shruggy:

Solid running old Mopar with extra parts for $500.  Without any more info than that i'd have to say its probably worth picking up.  $500 doesnt really buy much of a car anymore...

i am going back over tomorrow. she has a good title in her name too for it. even the front fenders are really ice on it! i was just wondering if it was something pretty rare. i was told that it was a package offered at pittsburgh area dealers only... :shruggy:

Yes , it was sold only at Pittsburgh area dealers . Kind of a Steeler celebration model for the 78 season . I am from the Pittsburgh area and remember them well . I don't believe many were made or sold .
