Best time of year to buy charger?

What time of year do you guys/gals out there think is best to find a good deal on a 2nd generation charger?
As of tonight,there are only 22 1968-70 for sale on ebay.Do a lot of people hold their cars until closer to summer?
Opinions please.

Now and in the past. To me, winter time seems to be the best time to get a deal, they always get cheaper in the winter . . .

^^^agree, especially if owner is stuck working on it in the open on cold garage, he might be persuaded to sell right now.

Winter, usually right after Christmas IMO is the best time to buy anything that gets used in summer: boats, RVs, motorcycles, hobby cars, RC stuff, etc.

totally agree. barring the stock market fluctuations, i would say from here on out till around october-november the prices of muscle cars, jeep, RV's, boats etc will be on the rise

This is a place where you will probably get ripped off or at the least you will be dissapointed in what you end up buying. Never ever buy a car sight unseen! If it is too far to travel to then forget about it and look for something closer to home. Best times to look for a good deal is just before winter starts in the northern climates. Warmer places i guess it doesn't matter. My advice is never ever ever buy a car sight unseen! If you can't afford to go there in person then hire someone to do this for you. There are places that do this, for a fee of course. To buy a car costing in the thousands of dollars should require some homework first. Don't get ripped off and buy sight unseen. e-bay is a place to be avoided. It is not all that it is cracked up to be!

Best time to buy Nov-Jan. (Cheapest, but you have to store or finance over the winter and can't drive it much)

Best time to sell Feb-June.(the show and driving season is just ahead)

I am going to kindly disagree. I purchased my second 1969 Charger off of E-Bay. Everything worked out great. The seller e-mailed me 100 pictures and I talked with him several times on the phone. The transaction could not have been better. In fact I could probably flip my car and make $5000.00 on it. Good deals can be had on there. You just have to be patient. I have been buying and selling on E Bay since April 1999. As with any item on E Bay check their feedback and use caution when buying high dollar items. There are more good experiences on E Bay then bad. If not, they would not be doing the record amount of business they are doing now.

Yea, it really depends a lot on the relationship you're able to create with the seller. Ideally you should always lay your own two eyes on the car in person but that's not always possible. When it isn't a good alternative is to find the kind of seller chargerboy did and work with them to create a good rapport. If they don't answer your questions, send you pictures or even return your messages you shouldn't be too surprised when you wind up with an overpriced rust-bucket/bondo buggy.
