I gotta say, Mike... I don't think I would have been able to contain myself if that happened to me. The moron rearends me then talks smack to me? Sorry, but I'd be in jail right now and he'd be having a nightstick removed from his head.

Props to you for not killing the moron.

pettyfan43

MAN you are a LOT more reserved than I am. I'd have killed that moron, and he'd have been eating that SUV!! ONE piece at a time!

69bronzeT5

I would of killed that guy, good job handling that Mike :2thumbs:. How much damage did the car get from that?

Mike, I got to hand it to you man for keeping calm during that footage that we saw at least. Remember, it is a car, a material item that can be repaired.

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

Better to knock his teeth out off camera, I say. :icon_smile_evil:

Better yet, film his butt whooping, then send him a copy a week later.

Maybe it'll remind him not to rearend a car that's worth more than his life.

mike, not trying to hijack but was your bullrun series offered on dvd? if so where to get it ebay? I missed the episode where the lotus got eliminated (would have loved to have seen that)

Mike,

God bless ya for keeping your cool as well as you did.  I would have been out of the car and mauling the guy pleading temporary insanity.

I have a question...is the Bullrun on a closed course? I wonder becase if an arrogant jerk in a Porsche 4X4 or Lotus with more money than skill were to injure me or my family on the way to the grocery store there would be hell to pay. Some of these guys look like they were drug away from having afternoon tea.

Nope, its all open road (the show and the actual one) except from what I know of..the challenges are all on closed courses.

Hey Guys -

Bullrun is held completely on public roads. It is NOT a race, it's rally. That being said there are people that treat it as such - there is no prize for the winner. It is impossible to do a run like this and not get excited - your adrenaline is pumping and it's a amazing feeling to know that you are running with 75-100 of the most expensive cars in the world. The participants usually fall into 3 classes: Frontrunners (these are the guys that go to jail), Mid-pac guys (that's me) and back of the pack. The frontrunners WILL run balls out... think 150mph... NO THANK YOU, the mid-pac guys like myself usually run at between 85-110 and the back of the pack guys will simply do the speed limit.

When you do these rally you are absolutely risking problems with law enforcement, damage to your car and breakdowns. The cars are run VERY hard on legs that are generally 400-600 miles at a clip. It's a LONG drive everyday and even longer in an old muscle car.  The guys in the Bentleys and Porsches felt great - when we finished we we're simply CRUSHED. It beats you down... hard.

As for the guy that hit me... well, you have to chalk that up to sh*t happens. I got a small chip on my deck lid and that was pretty much it - I got lucky. You also have to realize that for me to get into a physical confrontation with them is NOT a good idea. I was bouncer for A LOT of years, I'm 6'4" 240lbs. from Brooklyn (think street fights) and in shape with martial arts training and my license plate says: "MR ANGRY"... that being said I don't think a judge would look at me in to favorable a light if I was standing in front of him - you have to pic your battles.

As for the series I was in - you can download them at Amazon.com "http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000S6O3L8/ref=pd_bbs_5?ie=UTF8&s=digital-video&qid=1202133606&sr=8-5"

As of right now we are getting ready for the next Bullrun which runs from June 20-27th and goes from Calgary to Phoenix, AZ.

Cheers - Mike

Will do. This year is going be a BIG ONE for me with the launch of "MR. ANGRY INC." which is basically being done on Bullrun. We're bringing a new car and running as "TEAM ANGRY" which will be hairy... the car list for TEAM ANGRY is as follows:

- '69 Dodge Daytona (replica, clone, recreation... whatever)
     - "MR. ANGRY" will be a back-up car this year.
- Ferrari F430 color: Black
- Ferrari F430 color: Silver
- Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano
- Audi R8
- Mercedes S55 AMG
- Porsche 930 Turbo

We'll also be doing daily internet blogs on Cardomain.com to keep everyone in the loop.

Good lord!  What - no Mclaren?  No Bugatti?  LOL!

Sounds like Team Angry doesn't mess around. :2thumbs:  Good luck, have fun and be safe (just not too safe ;)).

I would have killed him his entire family, and everyone within 30 feet of his piece 'o crap car,.. thereby cementing my reputation,..  :icon_smile_wink:

Good Luck Mike.

P.S. How was the party last night?..  :popcrn:

mikesbbody

mike, thanks for the link re: bullrun you are right, if you had hit the guy the judge will look at you 6 foot 4, 240 pounds with a martial arts background, and bouncer...wouldnt work in your favour. In the same way your size can work for you in some situations, it can also work against you in others (you did the right thing imo) but yeah, you had every right to be mad as hell good luck for the next bullrun  :2thumbs:

That doesn't sound like the "Spike TV" version right?

By the way, Kudos for not ripping any heads off when you got rear ended...it must be the martial arts training!

I'm nowhere near your size....but, I would have definately gone all Tufcat of their asses ----and then..... be eating county food for a long time while licking my numerous wounds :eek2:   (I could really use a "cat smiley" covered in band-aids right now)!!  :icon_smile_wink:
