Hello everyone.   I would like to hear some experiences from people, Good or bad about buying parts from suppliers.   Who would you deal with. Who would you NEVER under any circumstance deal with.   I would mostly like to hear about Year one, The Paddock, Laysons, Mancini racing, and any others that you would like to talk about.
I'm smarter than I act, But I don't act smarter than I am.

I have been on a spree lately and all the 'companies' have been very nice on the phone, prompt shipping etc. I bought a few things off private sellers on ebay-total disaster..ultra slow shipping, dont take paypal, can't pack properly etc. of 6 ebay purchases only 2 guys where quick and had quality parts. no more ebay for me.

Ive mainly bought from Year One and have had no problems with them. They have always been friendly and helpful with me. The only problem Ive had was not really with them, but my carpet set I bought from them. Its fading horribly and I don't really know why. My car doesn't sit out in the sun or any thing like that. I guess maybe it was just a bad dye job :shruggy: from the company.

The list is shorter of who I probably wont buy from: Jim's & RT's. I think ebay is a good place to get some stuff especially used/orig parts, but you are bound to get stung on occasion(I bought fenders & doors & got rust & bondo!).

Charger Specialties, PG Classics, BE&A, Year One are good, had an issue with Firestone Collectibles.

Be real careful with Paddock's shipping and handling costs.  They base it on $$ so you can have a couple of little items that will cost you a mint to ship.

I've had very good experiences with Harden's Muscle Car World.

I prefer Year One simply because of almost one stop shopping. They carry "almost" everyting the other guys do at about the same price. Nearly everytime I call them the parts are in stock. I have seen BE/A parts in person and PG Classics and they are great quality but priced high but hey, quality costs. Laysons has great parts but only buy them at the show. DO NOT PAY IN ADVANCE. A friend of mine waited over a year for parts they kept saying would be finished soon. He finally got his money back and he never did get the promised parts. I have bought from R/T specilaties at shows and like the parts and the prices. Has someone had trouble with them doing mail order?
Malicious, vindictive, spiteful, cynical, pessimistic, sarcastic, & antagonistic. And those are my good traits!

I've dealt w/ R/T's both ways. The ph was like calling someones house & had a hard time reaching him, at the shows I was treated like an idiot w/no $. Customer service is huge in my book.

Year one,:   Never really had any problems with them & friendly on the phone
The Paddock,:   Disappointed to the degree that I will never deal with them again. Ordered 1/4's & was told every time I called (4 times) that they were on back order, 6wks ok I'll wait that out then the next time it wasnt them it was the manafactures fault & then after 2 months I got someone that advised me no man those are not avail at all nor were they ever avail when your order was taken sorry but we never should have taken that & told you that which was finally the truth but in the meantime my car went out of the shop due to the lack of parts...
Laysons, :  Never dealt with
Mancini racing:  Lotsa goodies & they tend to give great discounts when they are at the local shows here

Pretty much just an echo of what everyone else has said.  Year One and the Paddock are both very helpful and up front about what they have or don't have.  Year One tend to rape you pretty hard on S&H and their technical help isn't what it used to be before they went corporate.   They do have an excellent return policy though and they don't try and give you attitude.  It helps to compare prices though as though all tend to carry many of the same parts but not necessarily at the same price.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned some of the regular suppliers andmembers here like Bill Alphin or BE/A.  They may not carry the extensive catalog that a YO type place might but they possess an incredible amount of knowledge about these cars, their prices are great, their service seems to be above reproach and the parts they carry are  many of the harder to find and greatly needed ones.  Remember, Year One and the Paddock with their huge catalogs are selling a LOT of things that you can get from the dealer or Summit or Mopar Performance or NAPA or whoever.  They just stick a middleman part number and markup on it.
If it's a hard to find part try A&M or BE/A first.

Last time I tried to get something from YR1 half of stuff was backordered. Since that and knowing the outrageous shipping charges I try now to keep away from them. The shipping charges makes the discount codes are NOTHING to really win.

Never tried laysons or paddock or similar. Jims has a good catalog to offer on line, but have got several bad recomendations from this website so I keeped away from Jims.

Once got good service from Buymopar.com, then tried second time and didn't get same results, lot of delay just on answer question, even true they told me was on trip, from show to show... but still!

BradsNosParts have lot of stuff, some good priced, some outrageous priced. Does look with good inventory, but... not a REAL catalog about, just some stuff at his yahoo store. If you have PN, you could find what you need at his online inventory section. Email service could it be LOT better

There are two great ebay sellers to get that small stuff you always forgett that you need, bobalindalu and rob1426... GREAT stuff and rightly priced. Rob1426 is increasing his invetory daily, check:

and bobalindalu:

Firestone collectibles... is a good option, got the Parking lenses from them. PGClassics looks the same too

MoparsbyCrane.com does have LOT of good stuff for sale, but not on line. Try to get a catalog and will get better results. Email service is not the best and some delay on responses, got a part that wasn't exactly the one I did need by email advice, and they were selling the one I did really need that I noticed JUST when got the catalog. Luck was the part they sent had what I needed and more, but could save some bucks getting just what I needed thought. Maybe by phone with a catalog is the best to buy from them.

Summit is the one that I think with the best service around, of course if you are looking for drivetrain and performance stuff, not really body parts. Not bad priced althought can be found better priced. However getting everything from them is the best deal.

Great service is CAMPBELL enterprises. Got THE BEST EMAIL FEEDBACK OF ANY DEALER. great service and rightly priced. Not body parts, just drivetrain and performance. he was able to get me just TWO KB240 pistons I did need, what summit wasn't able.

Moparts & services is also a good dealer however LOT of delay on shipping... good priced thought! he takes care to get what you need from his suppliers althought is not still on his parts stocks. Not easy to send payment thought, some limitations about, specially if you are outside USA where makes a little bit harder to pay.

I've bought allot of things from Summit. I haven't made any purchases from Paddocks in a long time. I'd buy form Charger Specialties again if needed.

Gotten lots of used stuff off feebay, but it's amazing how dirt and rust doesn't always show up in pictures.

I have had good service from Year One (Shipping ferocious tho'), Hardens, Muscle Motors, BE&A and PG Classics....

R/T Specialties will never see another nickel from me. I ordered wheel lip mouldings from him in Jan. I received the next month. Great! But, I got 2 right rears and no left front. Not so great! I called him immediately and was promised a correct one in a couple of weeks. I had to call that friggin jerk every month until I finally got it in March. I definitely got the feeling that he was hoping I'd eventually get disgusted and go away. I'm a pretty stubborn Mick, I will get what I payed for!! This was my first and last experience with R/t Specialties.

Year one is good but they buy some of their stuff from other makers like Legendary Interiors.  I like finding stuff on Ebay that came from Year One that other people found out they no longer needed.  that way you save some bucks and still get the quality.
