Maybe my answer is elsewhere to find but I wonder if anybody have any bright ideas for a selfmade
carrier or similar to put  my body on during body/paint work.  :brickwall:

I saw some kind of "Box frame" being used in an episode of Rides and in an episode of Musclecar that I'd like to build to put my charger on. Not sure if it's something made by someone or if it was just a self-made deal.

In Rides it was the episode where they built Joe Rogans Cuda.

Are you talking like a rotisserie? Someone here posted a link to www.69hemi.com once and it shows some directions and material list to build one... If you are talking about something to just sit the body on and roll it around, I think there are some picks like that listed in another post...

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

Very nice link, the 69hemi but I was moore looking for putting my body on "wheels".
Will try to find the post you refer to.

Several guys have used "legs" to move the car around when the suspension is off. There's no need to build an entire cart unless you need the support. I'll try to see if I can find pictures when I get home.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Heres a couple pics of what I use, its hard to see the rear ones, but they mount where the leaf spring attaches . The front is pretty self explanatory.

I have mine on a car dolley similiar to that on the 69hemi site. I'll post a pic in a few and post it.

Here's the pics of my car dolley. I'd recommend getting MUCH better casters then what I'm using.

That's exactly what I want to build for my charger.

That Cart looks very strong and all, but I wouldnt want it because it will be in the way ALL the time while trying to work on the car!  :Twocents: ........You may as well have the car on its own wheels rather than have that in the way.

Good point.

I don't want it on it's own wheels though cuz I want it higher off the ground while doing body work and block sanding. I've got a bad back as it is so no bending over for hours for me.

But I'm sure one can be built that won't be as wide around the car as that one. I'd also like it to be higher off the ground then that one.

The only thing that concerns me about those setups is the lack of spring cushioning.

If the car's gonna sit on those things a long time, I'd wanna at least have inflatable tires that aren't to highly aired up.  You don't wanna have the body sag on you.  Particularly since you're probably cutting & welding on the body at the time you're rolling it around this way.
