Saw this on Ebay.

"Mars mopar presents.... Dodge Charger Convertible Conversions

We are now offering Dodge Charger Convertibles built with all new Auto Metal Direct (AMD) sheetmetal.  The conversions are based on either a Dodge Coronet or Plymouth Satellite convertible chassis....depending upon availability.  We can build either 1968, 1969 or 1970 Charger convertibles.

The car that is pictured was campaigned at the '08 All Chrysler event at Carlisle, PA.  It was built from a 1969 Sport Satellite convertible that was in rough though restorable condition.  The rear clip was built using both currently available and prototype parts that will soon be available.

We are AMD distributors as well as product developers.  We have assisted AMD with the development of many of the parts used in this build.  We can honestly say that the fit and finish of these parts is fantastic.  New 1968, 1969 and 1970 Charger quarter panels will be in stock within the next couple weeks....order yours NOW!!

Rolling chassis conversions starting at $29,995.00 will include:

rust free convertible chassis with:
restorable convertible top frame assembly
restorable convertible exterior trim and quarter glass and regulators
convertible rear seat
converted rear clip assembly (new AMD quarters, taillight panel, deck filler panel, rear valence, valence corners, trunk extensions, trunk floor, trunk gutters, plenum, support brackets, trunk latch panel etc. , used rust free or new AMD deck lid (depending on availability)
rust free or new AMD door shells (depending on availability)
new AMD front fenders, hood, front valence and inner fenders (if needed), core support (if needed)
buildable front suspension

Well, it could be a JS model judging by what you said. If you can, find out what kind of pickups it has. If it has Seymour Duncans or Duncan Designed pickups then its a good deal. If it has Jackson pickups, then its a JS model and you can buy a brand new one for $320 here.

I really like these, with out the sail panel roof line it needs the wing !!
GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

Ghoste

I don't know.  Without the sail panel roof line I just see a Coronet with the scallops moved from the 1/4 to the door.

how about AMD starts making the 71 Charger front fenders and rear quarter panels instead of putting them off to the side like everyone else has done in the past  :poke:  :o  instead of wasting time with a charger convertible  :eek2:

AMD isn't making the sheet metal for a convertible - MARS used the new AMD Charger sheet metal and cut it up to make a convertible. Much nicer than hacking up a good Charger to do it.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

pettyfan43

I've seen one or two of them - Before this was available, and ALWAYS thought Chrysler missed the boat by NOT offering a Charger ragtop!!

They look AWESOME topless.

Wow, I agree.  I normally don't like the Charger conv look, but those are awesome.  :drool5:
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Dodge Don

Me too Don, like I said, without the sail panel, it's just another B-body to me.  The Charger was a two door specialty hardtop and for me, that is part of what makes the model Dodge's flagship.  To each their own though.

WingCharger

In my opinion, without the roofline, a Charger looks like a brick. :eek2:

Someone else said it looks too close to a Coronet Covt.....agree there also.

ACUDANUT

How about a 71-72 Charger with T-Tops. Yaa, that's the ticket.
