The '70 B body handle is the logical choice but keep in mind that the '70 B body had a one-year-only shifter mechanism with longer levers than previous years, the longer levers shortened the handle throw considerably. With the '70 handle in a stock '68-'69 shift mechanism your knuckles get real close to the dash.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I didn't know that John, it may explain why I seem to have a long throw on the shifter handle. The tranny is definately a '69 18 spline but I don't know what year the shifter is.

Just what different vendors think they can get for them.  Hurst if reproducing them so they are all getting them from the same source.  Hurst could be supplying them at different costs as well.

So bottom line I'm looking for the 70 B Body w/ console version right - does that translate to the "Long" version> Year One didnt seem to know for sure.

the price differance is between the console and non console not so much the vendors, the console shifters have lots of bends in them

My bad, I took the question to mean discrepancies between all the different sellers. :icon_smile_blackeye:
