Third Brake Light Wiring

OK, So I purchased and installed a new camper shell on my Ram 1500 and it has a third brake light on it.  Coming down from the rear drivers side corner are two wires that power the light.

Now, I could just ground one wire and connect the other to the drivers side brake light wire, but then it would flash with the left turn signal and I don't want that.  I want it to act just like the third brake light thats on the cab, but running a wire all the way up to that is impractical.

I know this can be done, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to do it.  But then, electricity always has confused me.

:scratchchin:    you could splice it into the wire from the stop lamp switch above the brake peddle ,  :scratchchin:

Under the truck below the DS taillight the loom for tail wires run, I'm not sure which wire it is but you can tap in there.

You need something like this.  http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/ItemBrowse?storeId=10101&Pr=p_CATENTRY_ID%3A100000213268&productId=100000213268&catalogId=10101&langId=-1&rlid=group_listing

You just run a wire to each brake light, the module then only turns on the third brake light when the brake lights are on but not when a turn signal is on.

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

I simply would run the wire directly from brake pedal switch splicing from WHITE wire.

if it is a camper, then why not wire it like a trailer, then plug it into your trailer plug on the truck. if your truck doesn't have trailer wiring, you can buy plug-and-play plug kits. they just plug into your tailight plugs. no but connectors needed. http://www.truckstuffusa.com/pluginsimpletconnectorsbyhoppy.html

that way when the camper is off, you just unplug the wire and your back to stock.

No, not a camper, just a cap.  Only light on it is the third brake light.
