Power Drums to Manual Disc/Drum Conversion

My car was a factory power drum car, I have been collecting the parts for a front disc conversion. After 6 frustrating months of trying to locate a bendix booster, and researching on this site, I have decided to go with manual disc. Using the search on here I think all I need is the manual master cyl fire wall mounting plate, and a manual pushrod. Can I use the factory pedal if I take off the bell crank assembly? I'm also thinking of buying the later model (2-bolt) master cyl. and adapter plate that the Mopar Action Guy sells, is this a good upgrade too? Also what about proportioning valve, do I need to find a factory unit? If so what car would be a good donor? Or would you use one of those Adjustable kind? Any tips, pics, links will be appreciated. I just wanna make sure I have every part and a plan before installing everything.

Also If anyone has the pushrod and firewall plate for sell, I'm gonna need them. Either PM me or send an email to jason_kelley@bellsouth.net

Thanks,
Jason

I'm doing the exact same thing.

You don't have to change the pedal out. I don't know what real advantage you would have adapting the 2 bolt aluminum MC besides coolness factor, but maybe I'm wrong. I'm going with a '76 Dart MC and the '68 manual brake plate I got off of Ebay. No clue on the proportioning valve, that's a question I had as well. Still, I was planning on getting an adjustable one from Summit or something. . . it's bound to be cheaper anyways these days.

About the pushrod, you can get one from Master Power Brakes. . . I think I paid $9 or so for mine off of Ebay but they aren't much more new.

What spindles are you using?

I used an adjustable proportioning valve and it works just fine.   :Twocents:
