MOPAR NOS 2808475 piston ring set

4.320" + .020 - .029 O/S bore

I guess this piston set will work to my standart bore 400 engine KB240 Pistons.

are this Mopar pieces MOLY rings ?

Standard 400 Bore is 4.340"

Standard Bore 440 is 4.320"

  4.320
+  .020
-------------
  4.340

.020 O/S  440 rings should work fine in a standard bore 400 block.  Yes, they are probably specific to the Mopar application, because, the 4.340" Bore size is very uncommon, other than 400 Mopars.

Just make sure the rings are 5/64, 5/64, 3/16" to work on the KB 240 Pistons, but I suspect they are.

$50 does look pretty good price

I found also Main bearings clevite77 on $51 and cam bearings on $21... are Durabond cam bearings any good ( performance version )

To determine if they are "Moly", or not,  remove 1 top ring, and 1 second ring, from their boxes.

Now compare the outer edges of the 2 rings.

If the outer edge of the top ring is "shiney", compared to the outer edge of the second ring, then it is a "moly" ringset.

If the outer edges of both rings are dark and dull(black), then they are "cast" rings.

here is a pic of the rings, and description:

Hi Nacho, the rings in the top box are silver and the rings in the second box are dark black. The rings in the third box are stainless steel oil rings. So these look like they are the Moly rings. Also, I never looked at them very closely, they are in mint condition.

so what do you think ?

Them are old as the hills on grannies chest, and twice as dusty !

Look like a Moly/chrome top, ductile second.

Finish the bores with a 280 Grit stone, or, if power honing go for a JHU 525 stoneset(220 grit), finish last .0005" with a JHU625 stoneset(280 grit).

Thats the best I can tell ya !

Bob out.

I think they're OK for $50.

But I really don't know for sure. I don't pay much attention, or "price shop".

I just order what I think is best for what we're doing, add 30 points, and go to work !

well my worry is simply If I would get some performance advantage or disadvantage for that reason, using one or anothers, specially making the performance upgrade I'm trying to get, but if you say they are OK, I think I'll get them.
