Black Friday

I do not know if it is the same in your are.
Here in NE,Ohio, on Black Friday, day after Thanksgiving, all the retail stores open at 4 in the morning, Best Buy was open at Midnight, for the best deals of the year.
I was still hung over on Turkey Dinner & Drink & my wife gets me up to go catch some deals.
It was just crazy at the stores. We took our time, found some good deals and got home around 7.
Man I am beat.
Is this carzy tradition only in my neck of the woods?

nope its the same here in pittsburgh . ill bet its even worse here than there . traffic is a friggn mess , cars wrecking coz of snow and black ice . as reported on the news . im going out latter today only because im off work and i want to buy a sandblasting cabinet to clean up some parts .

I was out at the mall at 4:30 am this morning. I am back home to grab my daughter and I will be shopping all day.

I do love to shop. I have not met a woman yet that can keep up with me.

I stay as far aways as possable from stores on big shopping days. I do %90 of all my shopping online now anyway.

Most of the stuff that is on sale today was also available on-line for the same price with free shipping.

I thumbed thru the fliers in the paper and checked some websites.    I don't really need anything that bad enough to go shopping at 4am....  or to go anywhere today for that matter.    My friend goes out to wallyworld early and picks up stuff  and walks around with it till 5am 

There's some decent deals on off brand lcd / plasma tv's.   But I like to compare and get reviews before I buy anything like that.

Yeah its like that here in indianapolis as well. Only difference is that I don't go out in it. I typically go to one store on "black friday" but not this year. I looked at what they were offereing as deals, and it wasn't on anything I was interested in. This is usually the day that I get my best deals for video/photo equipment to use for the next year. Only problem is no sales on the brands I prefer.

The best thing about being in SoCal and not Spokane is that I can get up, wash the cars, drink beer for breakfast, stay home and let everyone else fight the mall crowds to shop.  The wife already finished all her shopping back in August and mailed everything before Thanksgiving.  So a lazy day and weekend at home.

Black Friday is a Nation wide event.  I have only participated once...it was freakin' crazy and will never do it again...like it was mentioned before...do it on-line......my neighbor and I did that last year..well she bought I looked....LOL

Exactly. My brother and I took out the ads and started looking some of this stuff up online and found most of it either cheaper or at the same price plus shipping. I'd much rather pay a $50 shipping fee and stay in a warm bed rather than stand out in the cold for four hours and then fight with big hairy women over TVs and socks at Wal Mart.

Of course it is nationwide. All the same retailer chains set up a big ploy to get all your money NOW. The best deals are after Christmas. I see the ads and what is on sale now was the same when the had their stupid Christmas in July sales.............some people never learn.  ............
